Lulanga Tales cover
Released

This might not be the case for everyone, but music on Lulanga Tales has a way of caressing my brain ASMR style, lulling me into a warm stupor. Maybe it’s Nyati Mayi’s incredibly expressive free-form vocals, or the way he picks at the strings or his lulanga (a harp-like instrument from the DRC). Or maybe it’s the glassy, haunting synth work by DJ soFa (aka. The Astral Synth Transmitters). One thing is for sure though: Lulanga Tales is an absolutely entrancing record, one that allows both artists — who are emblematic of Brussels’ eclectic music scene — to shine.
