Some mid/late 60s Motown albums were hurriedly assembled, often with some ‘filler’ tracks included, but not so with Smokey Robinson and the Miracles’ ’67 album. Originally called Make It Happen then changed to Tears Of A Clown when the single of the same name became a hit, this album contains several Miracles hits, three brilliant Stevie Wonder-penned songs including the gleeful soulful gallop ‘My Love Is Your Love (Forever), one of Robinson’s subtlest, prettiest songs, the tender ‘More Love,’ and finishes on a soul song that became a standard, ‘Tears Of A Clown’.
