Meanderthal
Released
Instead of watered-down pablum like Bush or Collective Soul, the term “post-grunge” should refer to bands like Torche who took early 90s alt rock’s sublime combination of catchy and heavy and amped everything up. Meanderthal‘s songs build on that foundation to bring the listener radio-ready pop rockers like “Across the Shields” while channeling the Melvins’ misanthropic sludge on “Sandstorm.” The Florida foursome’s sun-soaked darkness makes everything feel of a piece.
