Mozart: 3 Concerti, K 107; Schröter: Piano Concerto Op. 3, No. 3

Released

Mozart’s First Piano Concerto isn’t really his first piano concerto. Instead, it’s a transcription for orchestra and piano of a sonata by J.C. Bach. Genre- and world-defining it is not, but it is mercilessly addictive and pretty well-crafted. Same goes for the other two Mozart concerti here. This album closes with a concerto by Mozart’s slight senior, Johann Schröter, another child prodigy under the influence of J.C. Bach.
