Recorded to two-track digital in 1979 but not released until 1982, Of Human Feelings showcases Ornette’s electric sextet, Prime Time, at its best. The pieces are concise and catchy, bridging the gap between the taut, explosive Atlantic quartet albums and the sprawling jams of 1975’s Dancing in Your Head. The clean, dry mix allows each player to dance around the others in endlessly fascinating, interlocking patterns.
