RRR-100
RRRecords is an influential American label, record store, and concert venue that was one of the first to publish more extreme forms of underground music like industrial and noise. Its discography was varied, putting out records from musicians the world over like Japan’s Merzbow, the UK’s Ramleh, and Germany’s P16.D4. RRRecords frequently put out compilations to highlight their roster and musicians that they were connected to, and RRR-100 is one of their most ambitious undertakings: a record of 100 tracks by 100 different musicians, housed in locked grooves designed to loop endlessly. Each is only five seconds in length, but the tracks take on new life the longer you let them stretch out into infinity. And most importantly, its credits hold a stacked list of experimental musicians that will give you new threads to follow for potential decades.
