Soused cover
Released

In a career of surprises, Soused may still be Scott Walker’s pinnacle. Sunn O))) had reached out to Walker to see if he could appear on their Monoliths & Dimensions album; he was unable to join but remembered them for the future, sending them synth based demos to transform into their own drone feedback style. Walker in many ways never sounded so operatic as on Soused, and the contrast between his bravura singing and Sunn O)))’s massive feedback sprawl on the album’s five long songs like the choppy crunch of “Bull” is truly captivating.
