If forced to choose one among Keith Jarrett’s many outings with bassist Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette, I would uphold this double album recorded live in 1986 at Munich’s Philharmonic Hall. As the first wave of “My Funny Valentine” hits the shore, it’s obvious we’re going to be in for a magical journey. Although every track is unmissable, their take on “Autumn Leaves” here is historic. The 19-minute medley that begins with “You And The Night And The Music” is another notable feat, while “Someday My Prince Will Come” and “Billie’s Bounce” are reborn at the pianist’s touch.
