Chicago singer Etta James hooked up with the Muscle Shoals rhythm section in 1968 and produced this Southern soul classic. The title track is just pure high-octane sixties soul energy, followed by her gorgeous take on classic torch song ā€˜Iā€™d Rather Go Blind,ā€™ and the rest of the album moves similarly between funky countrified up-tempo tracks, unembellished bluesy soul and killer ballads.
