The Expanding Universe

Released

First released in 1980 and in a massively expanded edition in 2012, The Expanding Universe almost singlehandedly confirms Laurie Spiegel’s place as an electronic music pioneer. Drawing on her work researching and working at Bell Labs, her edge-pushing compositions tested the technical boundaries of what was possible at the time while evoking many different emotional connections in turn, a triumph of experimentation and general artistic fearlessness.
