Tinderbox cover

Reconstituting a new lineup with another guitarist in the form of John Valentine Carruthers, it would have been understandable if Siouxsie and the Banshees felt Tinderbox was more of a regrouping effort after Carruthers’ debut on The Thorn EP. Except not only was the album surprisingly strong, it had one of the band’s most memorable numbers, the chime-led history lesson of “Cities in Dust.” The usual Banshees variety showed up throughout Tinderbox, from the rumbling charge of “Candyman” at the opening to other numbers like “Cannons” and ”92°.”
