Uninvited, Like The Clouds
Released
After a few years post-Forget Yourself concentrating on more niche but still intriguing releases, including freeform jams and acoustic revisits to earlier songs, the Church fired up in full in again with Uninvited, Like The Clouds, with a dramatic opener in the form of “Block” setting the strong tone. There’s a crisp tension at points that can feel like a nice counterweight to the band’s 21st century low-key prog approach, as evident on “Space Needle” and “Real Toggle Action,” with “Easy”’s blend of that with just enough breeziness making for a lovely high point in particular.
