Klaus Dinger is absolutely at the krautrock end of the spectrum with very little kosmische in him. Do not dismiss him, though, or this incredibly fun album. Along with brother Thomas, Hans Lampe, and some extra keyboard players, Dinger brings that beat of his into a very friendly and upbeat zone. “Geld” is just like a big St. Bernard version of Neu!, panting and flapping its gums, while “Cha Cha 2000” is like ABBA strapped to the back of the Dinger machine (paired with a long, really beautiful spacefest with piano that some are not honest enough to credit Dinger with!). Maybe Michael Rother was just too sophisticated for the full steam ahead vision of Dinger, which is not a knock on either of them.
