Released

Chihei Hatakeyama’s long-running Void series of releases, appearing irregularly on his White Paddy Mountain label over many years, began with a collection of live performances recorded throughout Japan in 2009. Live1:Void is in ways more of an outlier for the entire series than anything else – most of the rest are studio creations – but hearing Hatakeyama create his carefully flowing guitar ambient work, the hints of feedback and tone transformed into mesmerizing results, makes for a remarkable listen across the three lengthy tracks.
