m b v cover
Released

Released with barely a few hours’ notice several years into their reunion, and 22 years after My Bloody Valentine’s previous full-length effort, m b v had to somehow manage the impossible task of living up to the heavily valorized Loveless in particular after all those years. Wisely, the band didn’t try: the nine song album, drawing on various late 1990s sessions with further reworking and overdubs added a decade later, instead touched on gentler but still unusual grooves at points, while still kicking up an unholy racket in particular on the concluding “Wonder 2.”
