Seretan himself called his own album an “absolute banger” on Twitter, which is both true and a play on the fact of its peacefulness making the idea of a banger inherently unstable and funny. In the Bandcamp description, he writes that these are “field recordings from a porch in North Carolina dubbed and re-recorded onto cassette tape, wind chimes and human voices sampled and re-harmonized, five small essays that explode the meaning of each movement.” You would identify the chimes but not likely the rest, which feels sort of tonal, in some general way, like small clouds of pitch ideas buffeting the chimes, rather than specific instruments or sounds.
