The Philip Glass Ensemble

The Philip Glass Ensemble was founded by the composer in 1968 to perform his developing musical language. Its characteristic combination of amplified keyboards, wind instruments and voices became central to Glass’s concert, theatre and film music, with Michael Riesman as a longstanding musical director.
