A Gilded Eternity

Released

Loop’s last release before a nearly twenty-five year break in activity found the band moving towards a point of remarkable abstraction, the rampaging psych rock obsessiveness of earlier work like The World In Your Eyes and Fade Out turned into a murky, alien mysteriousness. Robert Hampson’s vocals sound like ghostly pronouncements from some distant psychic place as much as physical, while songs like “Afterglow” and “From Centre to Wave” further extended the feeling of unknown transmissions.
