Alle Sorgenti Delle Civiltà (The Sources Of Civilisation)

Some of the most experimental outputs from the world of italian library music come from one of its very few women exponents, the composer, arranger, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Giulia De Muittis, whose voice appears on Piero Umiliani’s hit “Mah-Na Mah-Nah,” among countless other records from the time. Together De Muittis and her husband Alessandro Alessandroni worked on hundreds of hours of library music and film scores, hugely influencing the sound. Alle Sorgenti Delle Civiltà, released by Finders Keepers, showcases some of De Muittis’ solo work made under her alter ego Kema, and is a testament to her versatility, ranging from heady percussive workouts to more musical, spaghetti-western style cuts and totally dissonant, experimental tracks.
