Be Thankful for What You Got

Released

1974 Philadelphia soul album from the artist most well known for the title track, which was famously covered by Massive Attack on their Blue Lines album. Members of MFSB, the killer Philadelphia International label house band played on this, and it’s a rich, heavily orchestrated collection of sophisticated, slick 70s soul. DeVaughn’s second single, ‘Blood Is Thicker Than Water’ and ‘Be Thankful For What You’ve Got…’ are both featured on the album in their full seven-minute plus epic-widescreen versions.
