Christmas Album

Released

At once parodying Christmas music culture and various forebears in the field like Slade – not for nothing was one of the adopted pseudonyms Noddy Oldfield – UK punk underdogs the Boys regularly transformed into the Yobs throughout the late 1970s for a series of holiday singles that eventually resulted in 1980’s Christmas Album. To say it’s sometimes rather rude understates (the list of gifts alone on “The Twelve Days of Christmas” would likely shock Santa) but the pub/glam/pop stomp that the Boys did very well makes it a treat for those with coal in stockings.
