With John Reis having helped Drive Like Jehu temporarily wrap up with Yank Crime, Rocket From The Crypt regrouped for an amazing series of releases throughout 1995, the highest profile of which was the slick but never dull roar and kick of Scream, Dracula, Scream! Producing the group’s biggest commercial hit in “On A Rope” (even more so in the UK) along with other great, fun, sly but never goony or goofy songs like “Born in ‘69” and “Young Livers,” it captured early rock and roll exuberance in a way that avoided sounding like a museum piece.
