This compilation came out in 1976, the year that lead vocalist Teddy Pendergrass went solo and the Bluenotes left Philadelphia International Recods. It contains the absolute cream of their PIR work, with full-length versions of killer early-disco tunes like ‘Bad Luck’ and the ‘Love I Lost’ and one of seventies soul’s sexiest ballads, featuring Sharon Paige, ‘Hope That We Can Be Together Soon.’ PIR house band MFSB are at their scorching-hot peak, the songs are some of the finest that Gamble and Huff wrote and Teddy Pendergrass’ performance completely justifies his solo career.
