Decius Vol. I

Following a string of standalone singles and EPs, some songs of which reappear or are reinterpreted on the album, Vol. 1 serves as the formal full-length debut of Decius, something of a side project of Fat White Family with that group’s vocalist Lias Saoudi and Trashmouth founders Liam and Luke May. But the emphasis here is on taut, rough edged minimal electronic bangers laden with homoerotic frisson and cool focus on the beats and bass – songtitles like “Look Like A Man” say it all – with an early DFA Records vibe minus the restrainedly wry elements.
