Do You Party?

Released

Compiling the Soft Pink Truth’s earliest singles with a couple of extra tracks to boot, Do You Party? established Drew Daniel’s side project from Matmos with bubbling directness, with Daniel matching Matthew Herbert’s dare to create good house records. If the full conceptualism would turn up later, the question-as-title motif was set out of the gate, while having three songs with “Soft” in the name was its own kick. But the core was the music, with knowing humor emphasized as much as sex on tracks like “Make Up,” “Soft Pink Missy” and “Gender Studies.”
