Something I’ve noticed about drum & bass sets from 1996—this was recorded that July—is that they’re stuffed with three-year-old tracks. In fact, there were a lot of remixes of ‘93-era tracks in ’96; maybe the style was ready to look back and see the full view, more than before; maybe it’s because Timeless made DJs want to prove to the newbs that D&B had an actual history. It can be a little too damn déjà vu and/or redundant, but this one jumps like a mother.
