Solid Steel Radio Show, Hour 2

From August of 2015: Louis Flores would be a DJ hero if all he’d ever done were to provide re-edits for Streetbeat’s essential late-eighties grey-area compilations Ultimate Breaks and Beats, the 25-volume hip-hop sample bible that he also helped compile. But as you can hear on this hour-long mix (exactly that — 60:00 on the nose), no one’s crates are deeper or funkier, as he slots obvious classics (Sly, James Brown, Funkadelic) next to scads of equally body-moving one-offs. A stone gas, even if you don’t give a fig about history.
