Fast, anthemic, and angry, Austin, TX’s Criaturas put their heritage front and center by writing in Spanish, yet their vintage hardcore sonic violence also connects to the tradition of the genre in their hometown. Songs like the title track, “Libertad o Muerte,” and “Amor Violento” follow the hyper-fast and aggressive punk mold while bringing in enough of their frustrations and vitriol to make it feel new, resulting in a well-rounded, immaculately played, and highly original mosh pit masterpiece.
