Fantômes…Futurs

Released

The sound of Kham Meslien’s double bass is beautiful, warm, and quick to envelop. A few plucked notes billow and swell, creating hypnotic loops and mesmerizing atmospheres, while light taps and thuds on the wood of his instrument provide a subtle percussive backdrop. His solo debut is an immersive and intense listening experience, which transports you with it through moments of elation and hope, and others of trepidation and unease. Meslien is a longtime member of French ensemble Lo’Jo and has collaborated with illustrious artists  like Archie Shepp, Robert Plant, and Robert Wyatt, but on Fantômes... Futurs  he shows just how well he and his double bass can stand on their own.
