Happy Ending

Released

Bring together two veteran performers for a project and the result can often be tastefully airless. But UK lifers Sean Dickson and David McAlmont actually sounded like they want to have actual fun – and a bit of cheek – making their 2023 collaborative album Happy Ending a lovely fusion. McAlmont’s pristine vocals, accentuated at points by Dickson’s lower but just as warm singing as well as string performances from Bangalore-based arranger Chandru Jois, made the general result a series of elegant dance-pop songs – for adults perhaps, but not for the dull ones.
