In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up

Released

In 1990, Ministry hit the road in support of The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste. Core members Alain Jourgensen and Paul Barker expanded the group to a nine-piece for the tour, including guitarists Mike Scaccia, Terry Roberts, and William Tucker; drummers Martin Atkins and William Rieflin; and Chris Connelly and Skinny Puppy’s Nivek Ogre on keyboards and vocals. In Case… features six tracks pulled from a single February 1990 show in Merrillville, Indiana, kicking off with two of the most furious thrashers from 1988’s The Land of Rape and Honey (“The Missing,” “Deity”) before sprawling out on the dubby “So What” and apocalyptic “Burning Inside,” bringing it all home with the groove metal of “Thieves” and a nearly 10-minute burn-it-all-down version of “Stigmata.” The louder you play it, the better it feels.
