Kabul Fire Vol. 2

Farhot was already a well known producer with five platinum records under his belt when he released  Kabul Fire Vol. 1, a mixtape of hip-hop beats, reggae, and Afghan influences. His sophomore album, 2021’s Kabul Fire Vol. 2, is far more personal, and sees the Afghan-German producer engaging with his Afghan heritage and diasporic experience. By sampling Afghan films,  poetry and songs, and interweaving them with his own hip hop beats and lush string orchestrations, Farhot builds a vibrant collage, a symbol of his own immigrant identity.
