Left Handed Straw

Controller 7 is a mysterious figure, a beatmaker’s beatmaker whose career is divided into two distinct phases, one in the late ‘90s and early 2000s and then another burst of creativity and productivity twenty years later. Left Handed Straw was his first major work as a solo artist after becoming known initially for producing and remixing for left field independent rappers. Here he establishes the hallmarks of his style; dusty but well-programmed dollar bin drums, moody atmospherics, and a subtle humor in track titles, package design, and choice vocal snippets.
