London Conversations: The Best of Saint Etienne

Released

By the late 2000s the original singles compilation Too Young To Die only covered one quarter of Saint Etienne’s career; the 2005 US release Travel Edition 1990-2005 served as a partial update, but 2009’s London Conversations, especially in a full 2 CD and DVD edition, did the business even more thoroughly, up to their then-newest single “Method of Modern Love” (not a Hall and Oates cover, it should be noted). By including post-Britpop highlights like “Sylvie,” “Heart Failed (In The Back Of A Taxi)” and “Action” along with the early hits, it’s a strong summary of a rich two decades.
