Merry Christmas from Sesame Street cover

Merry Christmas from Sesame Street

Released

Given the steady stream of Sesame Street albums released throughout the 1970s, perhaps little surprise the Children’s Television Workshop team made a holiday effort in 1975, blending the same spirit of warmth, gentle learning and inspired silliness from the show in a Christmas context. David Axelrod’s various songwriting contributions include a perfect number for Oscar the Grouch, the entertainingly Scroogelike vent of “I Hate Christmas,” while a one-two of Spanish language songs, “Saludo” and “Arrurru,” underscore the show’s lovely wider goals.
