Minima Moralia

Released

The first full length release by Chihei Hatakeyama in 2006 was also his first and only effort for the Kranky label, serving as a perfect introduction to his involving and carefully arranged ambient explorations built out of acoustic and electric guitars combined with various production treatments. With assistance from his Opitope bandmate Tomoyoshi Date, on Minima Moralia Hatakeyama creates immersive pieces that also possess a physical snap and tension, with suggestive titles such as “Bonfire on the Field” and “Towards a Tranquil Marsh.”
