The building intensity that Front 242 showed over their initial singles and first two albums really started to click in full with Official Version, where the promise of electronic body music that the band had made its manifesto reached new, commanding heights. A classic single in the form of “Master Hit” didn’t hurt at all, appeared in a two-part version on the album, combining everything from a cool, commanding vocal to a wonderfully nagging synth hook, while other numbers like “Agressiva” and the moody romanticism of “Quite Unusual” added to its sleek overall power.
