Scorching prog/psych instrumentalists Titan don’t offer much beyond a swirling vortex of effects pedal abuse and inverted rainbows. Frankly, that’s enough. The urgency with which they attack wild space jams like the title track and “Maximum Soberdrive” makes this an utterly gripping journey through a drug-and-synthesizer-fueled nightmare. “Synthasaurs” more than nods to bassist Steve Moore’s main act, Zombi, as it stalks its prey through a dilapidated manor. Vocals appear briefly to ground “Wooded Altar Beyond the Wander.” But only briefly — this spends most of its time in the eddies between astral planes.
