The Inalienable Dreamless

Originally released in a DVD case, Discordance Axis’s third full-length is about as cinematic as grind gets. Jon Chang, Rob Morton, and journeyman drummer Dave Witte cram songs with the complexity of technical death metal into bite-size bursts of sci-fi and anime-inspired despair. The crisp production really lets you appreciate the sheer insanity – and when they give the songs some space, like in “Jigsaw” and “A Leaden Stride to Nowhere,” it opens the way for the Third Impact.
