There are two psychedelic fingerpicking guitarists here, one American and one English — but you’d be extremely hard pressed to work out who’s playing what, so preternaturally interlocked are Chasny and Tomlinson. There are five tracks recorded simply playing together “in a room on the South Pennines,” which most likely means at Tomlinson’s home in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, plus one 16 minute analogue ambient piece, its textures emerging from tape delays and echo boxes like mist off the hills. For the duration this is playing it feels like a place somewhere just slightly removed from the normal flow of time.
