UK DJ/producer/remixer/re-editor/compiler Ashley Beedle has been involved in dance music culture since the pre-acid house mid 80s. An artist with a wealth of pseudonyms and a sprawling back catalogue that contains many, many 12” releases, Beedle has also found himself at the heart of several influential albums too. It’s difficult to ascribe longevity in dance music to any one single factor but with Beedle there’s a thread that runs though all his work. He’s seemingly equally able to turn his hand to a range of styles, genres and tempos, but through it all, he’s consistently referred to and reworked the very best in black music from the last few decades, an approach that has proved extremely successful.
