Bricks Are Heavy

L7

1992
Slash

Just punk enough, just metal enough, and absolutely righteously pissed off at morons and idiots, L7 were an ultimate LA rock band, four people eviscerating the double standards aimed at women both in their scene and universally. Songs like “Pretend We’re Dead” and “Wargasm” — with a perfectly chosen Yoko Ono sample — also managed the hard trick of being political moments of their time that still (unfortunately) resonate to the present.
