Era del Vacío

A one-off album by a trio consisting of members of some of Mexico’s finest punk bands of the ‘00s like Crimen, Antimaster, Ratas del Vaticano, and Tercer Mundo. While the pedigree might suggest a hardcore outing, Era del Vacío specializes in a vicious and spiky take on goth rock. There are definitely some shades of punk abandon on songs like “Buscando un amigo,” but the bulk of the album wallows in slow tempos as in the atmospheric “A media noche,” all while leaving a thin layer of static to their music.
