First and Last and Always

The Sisters already had plenty of singles and EPs under their belt by the time of their debut album, but in many key ways that was exactly the point — the band, its lineup reaching what at the time seemed to be a final form, was road-tested, had a ton of amazing songs to burn and were out for the brass ring. The result was a compelling collection of ten tunes about all kinds of intensity set to dark rock power, from the opening glower of “Black Planet” to the desperation of “Some Kind of Stranger” and “No Time To Cry” to the rampage of “Amphetamine Logic.”
