Time Considered as a Helix of Semi-Precious Stones: The BBC Sessions 1979-1984

Drawing on a slew of sessions for any number of UK DJs, mostly but not limited to the famed John Peel, Time Considered also serves as a de facto career overview for those early years, with a general emphasis on the first two albums and their short stint on Jive Records (sadly, Fiction isn’t represented). Given the quick recording time allowed for these sessions, the sense of how massively strong the Comsats were live comes across time and again — “Dark Parade” is particularly sharp — while a cover of the Rolling Stones’s “Citadel” is a enjoyable curio.
