Heavy Rocks (2002)

Released

For their first load of heavy rocks, Boris kept close to the album’s name/mission statement. As with their subsequent records using that title, it feels like the band having fun after a more ambitious effort – in this case their classic third album, the 70 minute post-rock piece Flood. At this point in their career, they were still pretty raw, the feedback nastier and the riffs heavier. Basically an excuse to plug in and prove that their devilish songs decimated everything in their path. It’s a stone cold classic.
