Mixed Up

Released

Taking a slight breather after Disintegration’s massive impact and equally big world tour, the Cure subverted expectations somewhat in 1990 thanks to Mixed Up, ostensibly a collection of previously released remixes overseen by the band directly. But a slew of newer ones added surprise and variety, especially given rerecordings of “The Walk” and “A Forest” for the occasion, and there was one remarkable new addition as well: “Never Enough,” one of their most freaked-out guitar-led numbers ever as well as being an addictive funk groove.
