In 1988, Erasure’s holiday season EP Crackers International featured a remarkable Christmas song, “She Won’t Be Home,” that featured a lyrical portrait of a family divided by distance and possibly more, becoming one of their most cherished deep cuts. That spirit of melancholy-in-December received a full length equivalent 25 years later in Snow Globe, with the duo mixing up a further set of originals along with interpretations of classics like “In the Bleak Midwinter” and “Silver Bells” that often emphasized a moodier feeling to compelling effect.
