Junk Culture cover
Released

Having found themselves backfooted with the commercial failure of Dazzle Ships, OMD, arguably, retreated to much safer spaces with their follow-up release – an understandable enough move given that Junk Culture helped further build US interest among college and alternative listeners in particular. But far from being ‘just’ a sell-out, Junk Culture captures a quick fizzy pop edge that’s simply delightful in its own way, thanks to such great singles as the frenetic “Tesla Girls,” the easy lope of “Locomotion” and the sweet “Talking Loud and Clear.”
