Goths with Boston accents: let that image sink in for a moment. When you’re done, check out these Boston’s goths’ Relapse debut, Mourning Moon. Thankfully, no cah pahking here — the crusty vocals bear nary an accent and actually mark a departure from the usual vampiric intonations. More death rock than goth metal – some very narrow hairsplitting there – Final Gasp draw from bands like Killing Joke, Bauhaus, and Samhain to cast an ominous pall worthy of only the finest mausoleums. Songs like “Frozen Glare” and “Blood and Sulfur” make perfect listening for a graveyard party.
